http://laurachristel.blogspot.com

Administrivia, administrivia, administrivia. My husband wrote a
cool finance software so I can enter enter enter data data data.
Ok, I think I've been doing it too long tonight!

I had a great day - violin student did well, lunch with friend Meg and
one of the coolest sister's ever, visited Beverage Emporium, had
a friend Sara P. over for tea, and sorted papers and entered data.

We're MOVING!!!
Not far - to the Belhaven area. It's an apartment that, like this place
has lots of windows, is 2-bedroom and central AC (good, but not
excellent). UNLIKE this place, we will be on the first floor
(much easier for moving the piano!), close to Cal's work and my music
jobs, closer to our peer group, closer to church, have hardwood floors,
and allowed to have a dog!! AND we will be several MILES from the
train (as opposed to 20 feet from a train intersection where we get
woken up by the horn!)

Unlike our current place we will be living in the same town as the rest
of my family - isn't that cool? Car registration and insurance
will go up, sadly. And actually we'll actually be a couple miles
further from my family. But maybe if I'm in an interesting place
like Belhaven Heights, and not just same-old-on-the-way-to-everything,
they might stop by!! j/k, halfway. lol. I plan to see them just
as much as living here, however. So, there are some sad things, some
losses, by moving, but I think the gains will be greater, and it will
be a better fit.
Why do I sense boredom in the neighbourhood? See, this
is why I don't post to Xanga. I'm entirely too exhausted to make
sense. And my generation doesn't read it!
 We use old-fashioned email.
the only one out there now. Guess they all gave up . . . so sad .
. . well . . . we'll just have a party, you and me . . .
quite so long since I'd posted!! Ah, goodness. Time has
really flown since we got back from Florida! So I'm not going to
try and catch up all at once . . . bit by bit. :) But I wanted to
mention that I sent an email with a school project some kids are doing
that I got from my sister-in-law. Not a big deal. But it
might be interesting . . . thot I'd help them out anyway, so hope it
doesn't bug you guys!

Cheers!

I appreciate the comment, Natalie -it makes me feel like someone might have missed me. :)

Even though I have no exciting interesting teenage things to put up.

Speaking of teenage years, random, I enjoyed mine, especially the year in
Japan, and I also enjoy having them 7 years behind me! I'm glad
you guys enjoy yours, some of the time anyway.

Florida was good. Better than expected. I can't say "fun" -
though there were fun parts. Some of it was hard work. Some of it was
heartbreaking in various ways, but all of it was good. "The Lord
is close to the brokenhearted, he saves those who are crushed in
spirit." Psalm 34:18 And some of it was hilarious fun - Sea World
. . . soccer! It's funny, I didn't really want to go to FL, but
afterwards I didn't want to come back!

Soccer! I just have to say is the best sport in the world.
(Sorry, basketball fans, it just can't hold a candle to soccer!)
I played 4 times in the 2 weeks we were there, more than I've played in
the past 8 months!

Sea World!! Ah, how to tell. Someone had given us free
tickets! I would so love to have taken you all along. I
even went on the roller coaster even though I don't like them.
But it was an impressive one, and I had to have the experience.
It cost me a tension headache, which I had till I drank the free glass
of beer. But the dolphins, whales and sea lions were my
favourite. (A different exhibit for each) Dolphins the most fun and
playful, whale the most impressive and sea lions (plus walrus!) the
most hilariously funny.

Well, it's time for bed - goodnight!

Random: our Christmas tree is still up. I just like it too
much to take it down when not even a month has gone by since
Christmas!! I'm sitting here enjoying the Christmas tree lights
and rambling again . . . Cheers!
Thursday, January 12, 2006

practicing practicing practicing practicing

now, I'm wondering why I can't do this (font and style variations) when
I post comments on someone else's site. I'm using firefox, and
the keyboard shortcuts for such things only work if one is using
internet
explorer

. . . . plug for firefox - it's much more secure
than internet explorer, people don't know how to hack it as well . . .
much better . . .

but I should be able to vary my fonts even with firefox by using html code . . . hmmm.
Tuesday, January 10, 2006

Ok, typing in raw html!! ok, so I copy-pasted some of the code
into another window so I could check myself. But I"m still typing
it in raw!! And memorizing it! I get a kick out of
new languages, mark-up or otherwise!!
